Tomorrow I'm going to Alès (France), the town I'll spend the next 3~4 years in ! I'll be there just for one day, visiting some flats (and hopefully one of them will be good enough so I can set up myself in).

Great weather and Sun is awaiting me ! :) :) :)
However, Alès is such a small town... not that it bothers me, since I lived in Paris for 3 years... and hell it was very... heh... special ? Life in Paris is pretty hard, stressful, it's capital city for you !

I'm so happy that I'll leave Paris and prépa ! Now can't wait to live in Alès hehe ! ;D

I've just updated my HTC Hero with an unofficial rom : VanillaEclair 5.0 RC
I had to wipe everything, and so I decided to use AppBrain, a website who lists the apps you have installed and keeps syncing with your phone.
In case it can help someone, here's my list of Android apps currently installed on my HTC Hero.
Don't worry, the list isn't that big (less than 30 apps). I hate keeping apps I don't often use !

I also recommend (but it's probably already installed when you get your phone) Navigation, a Google GPS application. It looks great so far, but is still in beta and has only English voices at the current moment. Maybe your country isn't supported though (France is !).

And for people who live in France and who often take the train : Gares, displays in real-time the SNCF schedule.

Hey guys, I told you a few days ago that I've been accepted to INSA Toulouse.

But now, I'm also accepted to Mines of Alès !

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY !!!


Two weeks ago I was scared of not having anything, and look now... XDDDD I'm a so lucky brat.

So I won't go to Toulouse but Alès.
It's a very small town in the middle of nowhere, not that far from Toulouse (so it's still in the South of France). It is great because the rent is very cheap, and since it's a small town, it's probably very calm too.

I don't know when I'll start going there, probably mid-August. I have to find a flat first.


On an other note, I watched IMPACT EXCITER DVD yesterday. CD is probably disappointing, but DVD is an epic win. Watching Nana cooking her special curry is the best thing I've ever seen in my life. <3

Because 01/01/10 was the day I watched Live Diamond&Fever.
Today, 07/07/10, Nana day, is an awesome and beautiful day :

No need to introduce Mizuki Nana's new album since those who's reading this article probably know what I'm talking about.

So here are my first impressions of IMPACT EXCITER :

• TIME TO IMPACT EXCITER

Short introduction to the album, with an immediate transition towards the next song, NEXT ARCADIA.
Well, it just reminded me of introductions I'm used to hearing in video games. But apart of that... well... ok, I guess.

• NEXT ARCADIA

Fast song, with a predominant piano, some beats.
I like the instrumental part since it sounds alright : nice combination between a dynamic piano and some beats behind. But synthesized Nana's voice doesn't appeal me. She mostly does sing with her normal voice, though, but it doesn't feel right... it's more like she's near-screaming at some points.

• Mysterion

Hard-rock / Metal.No, sorry, this song totally sucks. You can't joke with hard-rock and metal : I'm not particularly a fan of these genres, but I do know it's pretty hard to do one great metal song. And Nana failed.

• Silent Bible

See previous review. Probably one of the few song I liked on this album, sadly. And Silent Bible isn't that good compared to her older songs...
But knowing how bad the previous song was, you may say that Silent Bible is epic; it was what I wanted to say. OTZ

• Young Alive!

Happy song, electric guitar.Engrish accent is still wrong. The song itself sounds alright, I guess. But totally not to my taste : I seriously hate everything that sounds fake-cute and pitchy (and this one does).

• SCOOP SCOPE

Techno (I guess) song, lot of beats.
It reminds me a lot of her older songs (I don't remember which one though XD), so it's a good point. Sounds nice, but heh, not catchy at all.

• DRAGONIA

Traditional song feeling, high-paced.
The instrumental is really great, with a mix of modern sounds (beats mostly) and traditional instruments which give to a song a "chinese" feeling. But I can't say the same with Nana... orz She sounds as if she was forcing herself, sometimes near to the screaming voice. Totally not right. However, I seriously like the instrumental part.

• Natsu Koi Mayou

Ballad, acoustic.
Probably the only one new songs that sounds completely right : both instrumental and voice are alright. But (there's always a "but") how many older similar songs are better than this one ? A lot. Natu Koi Mayou is still a cute and nice ballad, which makes you feel happier for the day !

• Koi no Yokushiryoku -type exciter-

Remake of Koi no Yokushiryoku (MGS Peace Walker theme song).
More dynamic, stronger, faster, less boring, instrumental is more diversified and sounds hotter. Nana's voice is a bit different but remains synthesized. Original version was strange, but catchy. This one is slightly better.

• PHANTOM MINDS

See previous review. Still as good as it was.

• STROBE CINEMA

Acoustic song, more or less fast, on the happy side.
Catchy, and really nice instrumental. But seriously, why Nana has to sing with that kind of voice ? A big fail english accent. And that was one big fail, omg. This song could have been sooo epic... ;__;
Still, I've strangely been addicted to it. So I guess it's not a totally bad song, isn't it ? .___.

• Toraware no Babel

Very high-paced song, beats, synthesized instruments.
Feeling is alright, dynamic and all, but I'm not that fan of high-paced songs. BUT AGAIN, Nana's totally messing up the song... Don't force yourself Nana ! (and maybe go back to slower (and epic) songs XD).
I started to feel really depressed at that point, I admit. orz

• Albireo

Acoustic and slow song, low voice.
The acapella heard on Youtube was a great first impression. Nana's voice is very low in this one, and it reminds me of her Lan Fan character song single. But Albireo clearly doesn't catch its goodness. And again, I feel like Nana's too forcing on her voice (how many times did I say that already ? XDD).

• Don't be long

See previous review. Actually, thanks to this disappointing album, Don't be long has become a song I like a lot...

• 7katsu 7ka

Ballad, very slow, cute, violin and harp !
A pretty cute and relaxing song. The second and last song to sound completely right, since Nana's sings with a slow and nice voice (no forcing here ! Hoorah ! \o/ ) But like I already said : how many older similar songs are better than this one ? Still a lot.


CONCLUSION :

Disappointing album. 
Because of my school life I didn't have that much of time to spend fanboying about Nana, so that's why I was waiting for the release of this album eagerly. Sadly, it's a real disappointment here... Like j1m0ne said, there's absolutely no flow on this album : it's like the songs were randomly put inside, and mixed up. Furthermore, there's not a single epic song which is better than the others : I suppose Nana wanted Mysterion to be the one, but it's actually the worst song I've ever heard from her (even COSMIC LOVE sounds okay orz).

Of course, that was my opinion : you are free to love or to hate this album. My tastes are my tastes ! ;D
